Aurora, CO – Police Officer Injured After Car Collision

A police officer was injured after a car crashed into his cruiser.

The incident happened on November 3, in I-70.

The officer stopped to help three women who ran out of gas. While he was still inside, a truck suddenly struck his cruiser’s driver side. It pushed it into the car of the women the police officer was trying to help.

The truck driver, identified as 28-year-old Aurelio Jeronimo-Morales, tried to flee the scene. Fortunately, he was caught after the Denver police helped.

He was arrested on charges including DUI, hit-and-run and careless driving.

Meanwhile, the officer and the civilian riding with him were sent to the hospital to get treatment.
