If you are here – it means that someone was arrested or you are not sure where they disappeared to and are checking the jails and hospitals.
There are many jails, prisons, and detention centers in Nevada and even more holding cells at all the various stadiums, arenas, casinos and other government facilities for short term holding. Remember that Jails are short term facilities – pre conviction or under 1-year sentences and Prisons are long term facilities – usually over a year for convictions.
We are going to break down the Las Vegas area jails first as this is the most common search by volume. The relevant sites and phone numbers below should be useful in locating anyone you know who has been arrested.

Clark County Detention Center – (also known as CCDC)
Located in downtown Las Vegas at – 330 S Casino Center Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89101, this is the largest facility and is where anyone on the strip or downtown will most likely end up. This depends on various things like the location and arresting agency as well as other factors but is usually the first search that many will have when someone is arrested.

Communications with Inmates
Remember if you are speaking to any inmate that all calls can and will be recorded and potentially be used against the inmate. Do not ask them any incriminating questions or say anything incriminating over the telephone or in person where there is electronic monitoring. The same goes for letters and other correspondence using any jail provided equipment. Everyone should remain silent and only speak with their attorney. You may get relevant information like commissary account information and provide support, but DO NOT talk about their charges. Your communications are NOT privileged like they would be with an attorney.

Getting Your Inmate Released
Depending on the severity of the charges and the history of the inmate as well as the judge and prosecutors involved in the case there are a few outcomes here.
OR or Own Recognizance is a likely possibility for minor infractions where the inmate has no to minimal prior history. This is where no bail money is owed, and the jail or detention facility will release them upon booking and any minimum time required to be held for things like intoxication or medical.
Bail is an alternate possible outcome. Nevada Law requires a bail hearing within 72 hours. This is where the prosecutor will recommend terms of bail to a judge or magistrate. This will be communicated to the inmate and the system where they will be aware of the amount of bail required. If they have a credit card on them within the jail and the amount can fit on that card, they may be able to post the bail themselves. The inmates will also have access to bail companies from within the jail and should be able to arrange for that bail by phone. However, it is always helpful when they have someone on the outside who is able to secure them a lawyer and bail so that they can be released. Typical rates for bail are 15% nonrefundable fee from bail bond agencies when you are unable to cover the bail with your own financial resources.
If they are not given OR or released on their your Own Recognizance or able to meet the bail requirements, they will be like countless other inmates who are left in jail until the resolution of the charges against them. Some inmates are left in jail on small bail amounts they are unable to afford, often as low as $100 dollars. This can continue to cost them lost income, housing, jobs, and other complications.
In any of these scenarios – you should consider immediately consulting with a Criminal Defense Attorney.
Holding Facilities
Prior to transferring to any of the above-mentioned Jails and Detention Centers, inmates who are freshly arrested may spend any amount of time in various holding cells within the city. Every large casino has a holding room or cell as well as all of the arena’s and large gathering area’s like Allegiant and T Mobile. If you know someone was just arrested, give it some time to get into the above systems and check back. You can also give us a call to see if we can help locate them. Busy nights might result in a few hours in a holding cell until they are able to move them to the larger facilities.
